1. ADMISSION RULES The candidates who have passed H.S.C examination of the B.S.E, Orissa or any other equivalent examination like CBSE or ICSE are eligible to apply for admission into +2 course (+2 Arts, +2 Science and +2 Commerce) and the students passing +2 Arts, Science and commerce from CHSE or any other equivalent examination are eligible to apply for admission into +3 1st year degree classes. a) Admission forms and prospectus for 1st year class can be availed from the college office on any working day between 10 A.M to 2 P.M. b) Admission forms duly filled is should reach the Principal within 15days of the publication of results of qualifying examination. c) Candidates are advised to apply in separate forms for separate streams. d) Documents worked are clearly mentioned in application form and prospectus. e) Application form incomplete in any respect will be rejected. f) The candidates should submit the duly filled in application forms in the college office on or before the prescribed last date One may send it by Regd. Post to the Principal, U.N. College of Science and Technology, Adaspur, Cuttack 754011, a week before the last date. g) The college will not be responsible for any postal delay or missing. h) The section of candidates for admission into various classes will be made strictly on merit basis as well as weghitage assigned. i) The basic parameter is the mark secured by a candidate excluding extra optional if any. ii) CBSE / ICSE marks will be converted appropriately into H.S.C. examination standard. iii) For compartmental candidates average of the two marks in the subject is to be calculated. i) The college provides weighage to candidate on following grounds i) NCC 5% A certificate, 10% to B certificate. ii) NSS NSS award bear 7% of marks iii) Rovers and Rangers 10% to certificate holder signed by President of India, 5% to certificate holder signed by Governor of State. iv) YRC 5% weightage to state level compare to 10% to National level campers. v) Sports and Games 5% weightage to State Sportsmen and 10% to National sportsmen. vi) Total weightage of a candidate shall not exceed 10% of the aggregate marks. vii) Weightage shall be considered along with the academic merit for maximum 10% of seats in each class for maximum 10% of seats in each class for which separate merit list shall be prepared and rest 90% of seats shall be filled up purely on merit basis. viii) Weightage shall be given only for the admission into 1st year of +2 or +3 classes and not for admission for Honours or transfer cases. j) Some seats are reserved for different category of applicants like i) Scheduled caste (Sc) - 8% ii) Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 12% iii) Defence Personnel - 4% iv) Physically Handicapped (PH) - 3% v) Ex-serviceman (ESN) - 1% k) After taking admission into +3 1st year degree classes, Honours selection is made giving 50%weightage on career marks and 50% on entrance test. l) In Honours selection, aggregate marks plus marks in the subject are taken into consideration. m) Candidates seeking weightage in any activities should mentioned on the top of the application form in Block Letters. n) In case of any dispute regarding interpretation of any rule, the decision of the principal is final and binding. o) The admission into U.N. College of SC and Tech, Adaspur is purely provisional and may be cancelled incase any irregularities is detected at any stage. No admission can be claimed as a matter of right. p) All written applications should be submitted in the college office. q) The students can change over from one stream to another, one subject to another, one Honours to another and one Elective to another within a given time frame as notified by principal. r) Honours students should contact their respective HODs to solve their problems. s) Students having grievance should bring them to the notices of principal by means of a application form. 2. COLLEGE RULES AND DISCIPLINE 1. After taking admission in the College a student has to sign an undertaking to the effect that the student will abide by the rules and discipline of the college. 2. Each student must register in the college office, his permanent as well & his locals address The name of the father and or the guardian as reflected in the High School Certificate must be mentioned without fail. A student from another state, seeking admission to the college, must produce a domicile certificate from competent authorities not below the rank of Tahasildar 3. Cycles must be padlocked and put in the cycle sheds. They should not be parked on the college verandahs and the corridors. 4. All written applications should be deposited in the box meant for this purpose or handed over to the Head Clark who will place them before the Principal; The principal does not receive applications from the students directly. 5. All students who wish to obtain leave of absence from the college must apply to the Proctor for the leave before they actually absent themselves. In special cases like illness where it is not possible to obtain leave in advance, an application for grant of leave should be : - (a) sent by post, (b) submitted immediately after return to the college 6. Students of the college should not be members of by outside athletic club or any other type of club or society or play for any team other than the college team without prior permission of the Principal in writing 7. When a team of students is deputed; by the college away from Adaspur for any reason, members of the team and students accompanying the team, must obtain leave of absence from the Principal before their departure from Adaspur. : Boarders in the team must also obtain permission from the Superintendent of the hostel. 8. All students of the College are advised to carry their valid identity cards with them and produce their Identity Cards when so demanded. 9. Students are advised to contact the counters for various kinds of official transaction. They should not ordinarily enter into the college office. 10. The students may met the Principal and other officers working on his behalf Written recommendations from the proctors should be obtained for the purpose. 11.The students are advised to attend classes regularly and secure required percentage of attendance. If a student secures attendance less than the irreducible minimum, he/she will be detained. 12. Each student is required to attend 75% of classes in each subject. 13. The students are advised to pay their college dues and hostel dues regularly as per the notice issued from time to time. 14. Students have to attend general classes, tutorial and practical classes. 3. THE FOLLOWING WILL CONSTITUTE BREACH OF DISCIPLINE: a) Spitting on the walls floors, pillars or doors of the college is strictly prohibited; b) Students are forbidden from loitering in the corridors when they have no classes to attend. The may remain either in the library or in the common room or in the seminar room or study centre. c) Answering the calls of nature is strictly prohibited at places other than the urinals and lavatories meant for the purpose and the lawns. They should not pluck flowers from the gardens. d) Students are prohibited from walking on the grass of the quadrangle. e) Students are warned not to tamper with the electric bulbs, fans and the switch-boards . f) Misbehavior of students, at any time, with the students teachers, employees, and visitors to the campus will be severely dealt with. g) Scribbling, pasting placards and other papers and disfiguring college walls are strictly prohibited. Any student disfiguring the walls shall be punished. h) Any student who remains absent in all the months & Terminal Examinations will be detained. i) Students should invariably stand in a queue while waiting near the college counters for depositing their tuition fees or for any other purpose. j) Students are advised to meet the Principal only during the prescribed hours of interview. They should not ordinarily enter the office without prior permission of their proctors. k) No club or society should be started or maintained in the college and no function should be organized without the approval of the Principal. l) Students guilty of eve teasing will be severely dealt with. m) Students should not ride or take cycles on the verandahs, corridors or the lawns or the college. n) Possession / use of drugs, alcohol or peddling of drugs in the campus/ hostel is strictly forbidden. o) Any unruly behavior in buses /blocking the traffic, traveling on footboards of buses /or any kind of annoyance to the public will result in immediate withdrawal of student travel concessions and if necessary with-holding of scholarships and may lead to expulsion from the college /hostel. p) Inviting /meeting strangers or unauthorized persons insider the college campus without any valid reason or permission from the Principal is prohibited. q) Malpractices in any form is strictly prohibited. |
