>> INCENTIVES (SCHOLARSHIP, PRIZE & AWARD )

SCHOLARSHIP

The following scholarships are available to the students who are studying in U.N. College of SC & Tech. Adaspur, Cuttack.

a) National Scholarship

NSs are awarded to poor and meritorious students by Govt. of India, through Directorate of Higher Education, Orissa. Selection will be made on the basis of their performance in +2 C.H.S.E examination.

b) Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS)

This scholarship is awarded by the T.R.W department, Govt. of Orissa, through sub-collectors of respective divisions only to SC & ST students.

c) Physically Handicapped Scholarship (PH)

This scholarship is provided by social welfare department of state Govt.

d) Sanskrit Merit Scholarship

The Scholarship is provided by Govt. of India to students through the Director of Higher Education, to promote education in Sanskrit language and literature.

AWARDS

The students of U.N. college of SC & Tech. Adaspur with distinct qualities are awarded with following prizes, medals and shield annually.

1. Prof. R.P. DAS AWARD :

Founded by in 1990 contributed by Late Smt. Binapani Sahoo, Former HOD of Logic and philosophy. It is awarded annually to the best student securing highest mark in Annual council of Higher secondary examination in college in Arts commerce and Science taken together.

2. Prof. D.P. DAS AWARD :

The fund was created in 2000 by Late Smt. Binapani Sahoo. It is awarded to the topper in Degree Examination in Arts, Science and commerce taken together.

3. Dr. BRUSHAKETU MOHANTY RUNNING SHIELD :

Instituted in 1998 by Dr. Brushaketu Mohanty, Acting President, Governing Body. It is awarded annually to the student who obtains the highest marks in +2 Science in College examination (+2 1st Yr Science).

4. +2 SCIECE MERIT PRIZE :

Funded by Science society to honour topper in +2 Annual CHSE Examination.

5. UDDAYANA MITRA :

Funded by Science Society. It is awarded annually to best student taking care of garden and plants.

6. KALA SHREE AWARD :

It was funded by Arts Society in 1992. This is the most prestigious award of Arts Society awarded annually to best Arts student securing highest mark in Annual CHSE (A) examination.

7. DR. PURNANANDA PRADHAN MERIT RUNNING SHIELD

Donated by Dr. Prasanta Kumar Pradhan, Lecturer in History, in the memory of his father. It is awarded annually to student securing highest mark in pre-degree or +3 IInd year university examination in Arts.

8. MANJULA MANJARI MERIT SHIELD :

Donated by Smt. Manjula Manjari Mohapatra, former HOD of Education of this college. It is awarded annually to Arts students securing highest mark in +2 Test examination (IInd Yr).

9. MRS. BIJAYA LAXMI BHUYAN MEMORIAL PRIZE :

It was funded by Mrs. Mily Buyan, HOD of Education in the memory of her beloved mother Late Bijay Laxmi Bhuyan. It is awarded annually to best student of the college presenting best “KABITA” (Poem).

10. CHAKRADHARA MEMORIAL AWARD :

Founded by Dept. of Commerce in the memory of former caretaker of college campus Late Chakradhar Routray. It is awarded annually to toppers in +2 1st year commerce Annual College examination.

11. RAGHUNATH SAHOO MEMORIAL AWARD :

Donated by Mrs. Kuntala Kumari Sahoo W/o Raghunath Sahoo in his memory to honour the topper commerce student of the college in council examination.

12. BHARAMARABARA SAHITYA MERIT PRIZE :

Donated by Sri Niranjan Behera, Clerk-cum-Typist of this college to honour the best student of the college in +2 and +3, securing highest mark in M.I.L. (O).

13. BANIJAYA SAURAVA AWARD :

Founded by commerce society in 2004 to honour the topper in +3 IInd Yr. Commerce University examination.

14. PROF. SADASIV MISHRA MEMORIAL MERIT AWARD :

Founded by Economic Dept. of the college in 2003 in the memory of Prof. Sadasiv Mishra, Father of Orissa Economics, a great leading Economist of state. It is awarded annually to topper in Economic Honours who have passed with 1st Class Honours.
