Students  admitted into this college are required to appear at following examination

a) Monthly Test

i)  Back paper University examination  

1. The Pre-Test examinations shall be held in September/October.

2. Monthly test are held subject wise in the first week of every      month.

3. The Half-yearly & Test Examination shall be held  in or around November  1st week.

4. The annual examinations shall be held in the 1st  week of April.

5. CHSE (Annual) and university exams are held as per the notification of CHSE and Utkal  university.

6. Promotion to next higher classes will depend on the student’s performance in the examination. A student  has to pass in eac    Subject and has to secure the requisite percentage of attendance and marks.

7. The decision of staff council is final for promotion.

8. Any reported case of indiscipline at the examination will be       decided by the staff council on the recommendation of Academic council.

9. The Staff council has the power to alter the rules as and there necessary.

10. The college provides 100% free-fair examination and any case of not practices at the time of any examination is to be dealt seriously.

11. The marks obtained by students in various college examinations are dispatched on post-cards to their words.

12. Guardians meetings are organised to review the performance of students and to look with the feed back from parents and students.

13. Absentees in the college examination will be fined as decided by staff council.

14.A student must have 75% of attendance in theory and practical class separately for being sent up and for promotion to the next  higher classes.

15. The staff council is to meet at the time of tabulation of result and  fix accreditation  for promotion of a student.

RESULTS

The results will be computed by taking into account the marks obtained by a student in all the paper/exams conducted by college /CHSE / Utkal university.

a) PASS MARKS

i) 30% in theory papers of each subject and 40% in practical paper of each subject.

ii) 33% in aggregate of all papers, council exams pass and Honours subject.

b) DIVISIONS

i) 33%  in Aggregate  to less than 45% aggregate or 3rd division for CHSE Examination.

ii) 36% in aggregate and below 45% in Honours subject is called pass without Honours.

iii) 45% in Aggregate for +2 classes –2nd division.

iv)  45% to below 60%in Honours subject –2nd class with Honours.

v) 50% in Aggregate with Honours –2nd class Honours with Distinction.

vi) 60% and above in Aggregate in Honours subject- Ist division in Honours.

vii) 60% and above in Honours and 50% in pass Electives and compulsory subjects –Ist Division in Honours waith Distiction

viii) No Distiction will  be awarded  if the candidate passes having availed the benefit of year Back Examination in non-honours papers.

AWARD

i) Candidates will be awarded +2 Arts/Science/commerce certificates after qualifying  CHSE, Examination.

ii) Candidate will be  awarded B.Sc (pass)/B.Sc(Hons)/B.Com (pass)/B.Com(Hons)/ B. A (pass )/ B. A. (Hons) according to their stream.

iii) Candidate will be awarded DOEAC ‘A’/ ‘O’ Level  after passing IT degree.

THE ORISSA CONDUCT OF EXAMINATION ACT, 1988

No. 360/Legis – The following act of the Orissa Legislative Assembly having been assented to by the Governor on the 11th March, 1988 is hereby published for general information.  

Orissa Act 2 of 1988

The Orissa conduct Examination Act – 1988 

            The act of provide for penal action for adoption of unfair means at certain examination held in the state and other matters connected there with Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State Orissa the Thirty-ninth year of the Republic of India as follows :

1. SHORT TITLE

The Act be called the Orissa Conduct of Examination Act 1988.

2.  DEFINITIONS

            In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires “recognized examination” means an Examination specified in the Schedule and includes evaluation, tabulation, publication of results and all other matters connected there with. (b) “unfair means” in relation to any recognized examination means taking or giving or attempting to take or give any help, other than one permissible, if any, under the rules applicable there to, from any material, written, recorded or printed or relayed or from any person, in any form whatsoever.

3.  PROHIBITION OF USE OF UNFAIR MEANS AT EXAMINATIONS

1) No person shall adopt or take resources to unfair means at any recognized examination.

2) No person shall aid, abet or conspire in the use of unfair means at any recognized examination.

4. RESTRICTION ON COPIES OF QUESTION PAPER AND OFFER OF INFORMATION

No person, who is lawfully authorized or permitted by virtue of his duties to do shall before the time fixed for distribution of copies of question paper to examines at a recognized examination.

a) Procure, attempt to procure or possess, such question paper or  apportion or a copy there of or

b) Impart information which he knows or his reason to believe is related to or derived from or has a bearing upon such question paper.

5. PREVENTION OF LEAKAGE BY PERSON ENTRUSTED WITH EXAMINATION WORK

            No person who is entrusted with any work connected with a  recognized examinations shall excepted with a recognized examination shall except in the discharge of his duties, directly or indirectly divulge or cause to be divulged to any other person any information or part there of which he has come in possession in the discharge of his duties.

6. RESTRICTION ON PAPER

            No person shall procure, possess, distribute or otherwise publicize or cause to be publicized any question paper as being the one or purporting to be the one that is to be given or likely to be given at an ensuring recognized examinations.  

7. PROHIBITION OF LOITERING ETC. NEAR EXAMINATION CENTRE

No person, save in the discharge of his duties, shall (a) during the hours when a recognized examinations centre or where any evaluation or tabulation work relating to a recognized examination is done and (b) two hours preceding the commencement of such examinations is conducted or evaluation or tabulation work is done or at any public or private place within a distance of one hundred metres of such premises or the place of evaluation of tabulation work namely

(i) Loitering

(ii) Distributing or otherwise publicizing any paper other matter relating to such examinations, or

(iii) Indulging in such other activity as is likely to be prejudicial to the conduct of such examinations or is likely to affect the secrecy thereof. Provided that nothing contained in this section shall apply in respect of bonafide activities of examines appearing at the examination, which is conducted at such examination centre

8. REFUSAL OF DUTIES CONNECTED WITH EXAMINATION PROHIBITED

No person assigned with invigilation work or superintendence or any recognized examinations at any centre or other work connected with such examination or evaluation, tabulation or publication of result shall refuse, save under circumstances beyond his control, to perform the work or duties so assigned.

9. PENALTY

Whoever contravenes any of the provisions of Section 3 to 8 shall, on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to three months or with fine which may extend to three thousand rupees but shall not be less than five hundred rupees or width both. 

10. INVESTIGATIONS ETC. 

(1) An offence under this Act shall not be investigated by an officer below the rank of Sub-Inspector of Police.   

(2) All offences under this Act shall be cognizable and non bailable.    

11. EFFECT OF OTHER LAWS

(1) Subject to the provisions of section

(2)The provisions of this Act shall have effect not withstanding anything inconsistent there with contained in any enactment other than this Act.

(3) Where any Act commission constitutes an offence punishable under this Act and also under any other Act, the offender found guilty of such offence shall be liable to be punished under the other Act and not under this Act.
